Chair in Pharmaceutical Health Economics: UEA, The School of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy
Location: Norwich, England, UK
Closing date: 27 January 2006
Interview date: 20 and 21 March 2006
Reference Number: AC612
Salary: a competitive salary package is available for outstanding candidates.
The School of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy, established in 2002, is a school developed from the existing, and very successful, School of Chemical Sciences (5 rated in RAE 2001). Total faculty numbers, currently 38, are projected to rise to 45 through the present round of recruitment to posts in both chemistry and pharmacy; this is being undertaken in preparedness for RAE 2008. Details of the School’s research can be found on the website in the ‘further particulars’ documents for the posts.
The research ethos in the School encourages and fosters inter-disciplinary collaboration with colleagues and with researchers especially in the other UEA Science Schools and the Medical School. There are also opportunities for research collaborations with other partners of the Norwich Research Park (the John Innes Centre, the Institute of Food Research and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital).
The School provides a vigorous and successful teaching programme in chemistry and pharmacy. It boasts the first new MPharm degree programme in the UK for over 30 years, accepting its first undergraduates in 2003.
There are thus exciting possibilities for research and teaching and we are pleased to invite applications for the following appointment:
Chair in Pharmaceutical Health Economics
Applications are invited from those who have an outstanding research record in the field of health economics. The appointee will be expected to lead and develop the School’s pharmacy practice research team whilst developing their international reputation in pharmaceutical health economics. An interest in and experience of teaching health economics to health care professionals would be expected; however contact hours and administrative responsibilities would be commensurate with a school striving to achieve maximum rating at the next RAE.
Informal contact: Professor Duncan Craig (d.craig@uea.ac.uk).
Further particulars and an application form can be obtained from the University’s web page or by e-mail at: personnel@uea.ac.uk or by calling the answerphone on 01603 593493 or by mail to
