Health Economist: Kidney Health Research Group & the Alberta Health Technology Assessment Coalition

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Our dynamic academic environment in the Kidney Health Research Group and the Alberta Health Technology Assessment Coalition at the University of Alberta is looking for an experienced full-time Health Economist with leadership qualities. The successful applicant will work closely within our research team in exciting and stimulating projects, including critical reviews of economic evaluation, health technology assessment, and primary economic evaluations.  This individual will:  coordinate the creation, validation, and analysis of economic models; oversee and manage data for decision models; critically appraise existing economic models; and assist in writing and presentation of research.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:  Masters in Health Economics or Economics (PhD preferred); experience or formal training in Decision Analysis, Economics Evaluation, Health Technology Assessment, Medical Statistics, and/or Econometrics; a minimum of one year experience in a similar area of work; proficiency with standard software packages for economic evaluation and statistical analysis, search engines, and database software; fluent in Markov modeling and Monte Carlo simulations; excellent oral and written communication, organizational, time management, interpersonal, and problem solving skills; and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
