Head of Health Economics & Reimbursment Argumentation: Sanofi-aventis

Location: Paris, France

We are looking for a Head of Health Economics & Reimbursment Argumentation who will develop pharmaco economics & reimbursment strategies to support product strategy. This position is based in Paris

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement health economics plans
  • Supervise the review and implementation of Study Concept Documents, Protocols, Analysis Plans, Final Study Reports.
  • Provide input for clinical development plans to ensure that pharmaco-economics, patient reported outcomes, or any reimbursment tools are fully utilized.
  • Review/analyse medical and evidence-based outcomes literature. Provide a summary for commercial operations and Clinical Development based on expert analysis and interpretation.
  • Develop approaches to influence insurance/payors’ decisions on product, payments and usage.
  • Build relationships with Key Researchers and Opinion Leaders
  • Manage a global health economic & reimbursment team of 15 peoples & the budget
  • Work with Regional Commercial Operations, Global Business Teams, Affiliate and R&D

Required Profile:

  • Masters/MBA/PhD degree in Economics, Health Economics, Pharmacy and/or Medicine.
  • 5-10 years experience in reimbursment, health economics and/or funding applications in a healthcare environment (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialized R&HE consulting company, a HTA or Payer body)
  • Knowledge of Health Technology Assessment in Europe, US or Asia
  • Payer/decision maker experience would be helpful
  • Ability to manage international projects
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of clinical development (in particular study designs that produce clinically and economically relevant value information in both a development and post-launch time period)
  • Understanding of public and private payer environment and the requirements for health economics and value information.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key marketplace factors, critical business issues and drivers
  • Ability to develop long-range plans and future business strategies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluent in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with multidisciplinary groups.
  • Team management experience
