Job Description: RTI International’s Public Health and Environment Division has a dynamic work environment with expanding research programs in multiple domains—health promotion, social marketing, policy analysis, and health economics. To meet the demands of an expanding research portfolio, RTI is seeking candidates who will participate in the development and implementation of large research and evaluation projects with a focus on chronic and infectious disease prevention and control (e.g., tobacco dependence, obesity, heart disease, HIV).

Responsibilities

  • Candidates will collaborate in grant and proposal writing.
  • The candidate will provide excellent analytical skills, including design, analyses, and reporting on complex, multivariate models, along with exceptional management and mentoring skills. Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have ten years of work experience (minimum of five years) in a research environment.
  • The experience should include the management and direction of a complex, comprehensive multi-level health promotion or disease prevention outcome-related evaluations, with seven years in a supervisory position (minimum of three years).
  • Candidates should be trained in health and/or social sciences and demonstrate ability to contribute to the planning, development, and implementation of research, evaluation, or field studies within public health.
  • Experience in tobacco control, chronic or infectious disease prevention/control research and evaluation is a plus.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated a substantial track record of research funding and publications in peer reviewed journals.
  • Education: Ph.D. in health policy, health services research, public health, psychology, sociology, economics, or a related field.
