Senior Health Economist and Senior Health Outcomes Analyst: IMS Health

Health Economics and Outcomes Research is a key area within IMS Health. This aspect of our consultancy covers key disciplines of health economics, epidemiology & observational studies, critical review and biostatistics.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Health Economist and a Senior Health Outcomes Analyst to join our Health Economics and Outcomes Research team. The positions are based in Sydney, Australia. As an integral part of the team, you will work on a large variety of projects for Australian and international clients in both the public and private sectors.
Senior Health Economist
Working within project teams, your key responsibilities would include:
- project management
- trial-based and modelled economic evaluations
- patient level data analysis
- health care pricing studies
- forecasting the health outcome and economic impacts of health care interventions and policies
- preparing high quality written reports
- mentoring junior staff members
The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in an economics related discipline, preferably with Honours or a postgraduate degree. Candidates with a life sciences degree and a high level of economics experience are also encouraged to apply. For all candidates, two to five years professional health economics experience in the pharmaceutical industry, consulting, academic research, or similar environment, will be highly regarded. Working knowledge of health care reimbursement processes would be advantageous, as would knowledge of decision modelling software packages (e.g. TreeAge).
Senior Health Outcomes Analyst
Reporting to the Health Outcomes Manager, you will be responsible for:
- project management
- conducting literature reviews
- retrieving publications via on-line databases
- undertaking critical reviews of clinical trial evidence
- drafting reports
Applicants must possess a degree in biological or medical sciences. An Honours degree or post graduate qualification will be highly regarded. Two to five years relevant experience is essential.
Both positions require individuals who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively on multiple short and longer-term projects. The ability to fit into a multidisciplinary team-based environment and work independently when required is essential.
