Associate Director /Sr. Manager, Health Economics: Gilead Sciences

We currently have a great opportunity in Foster City for an experienced, well-organized professional to join our Commercial Strategy department.

The objective of this position is to design and conduct health-economics analysis demonstrating the economic and humanistic value of Gilead medicines.

Working closely with and reporting directly to the head of Health Economics and Pricing, you will be responsible for ensuring that our health-economics messages are supported with high level quality evidence. You will also be a key driver in effectively communicating health-economics messages to customers in Gilead’s key markets across the world.

In this key role, you will:

  • Perform health-economic analysis ranging from cost-effectiveness decision analysis to large epidemiologic and claim databases analysis
  • Take a strong and proactive role in integration of health-economics and QoL instruments into clinical trials
  • Manage efficient and timely provision of key health economic deliverables (HE Dossier, publications, models and databases) for registration, pricing and reimbursement,and marketing of selected Gilead brands
  • Ensure commercial perspective is well articulated, communicated to, and agreed to by relevant parties (e.g., Franchise teams, Project teams)
  • Forge strong links with Research and Development, Medical Affairs, and US and International Marketing

Position Requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MS/MBA or equivalent
  • Skilled in health technology assessment, specifically decision modeling (TreeAge and/or Excel)
  • 5 years total relevant experience with experience in designing and executing health-economic, epidemiologic analyses or decision modeling.
  • MS/MBA in Business or Life Sciences or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills orally and in writing and demonstrated experience in producing manuscripts and presenting at scientific conferences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix team.
  • Interested in developing long-term pharma/biotech business strategy.
  • Knowledge and experience in HIV, HBV or cardio-pulmonary diseases.
