Background: Our client is one of the world’s most recognised Pharmaceutical companies with household brands and a vast array of ethical pharmaceutical products. They have experienced exceptional growth globally and with structural changes in 2007 has created a number of new and exciting positions to take opportunity of their advance in the market place. One such role is the creation of the Head of Corporate Affairs (HCA) responsible for the strategy, management and performance of the Health Outcomes and Corporate Affairs Groups.
Primary Duties: This is a Leadership role reporting straight into the General Manager of the Pharmaceutical Division. The HAC is responsible for the strategy, management and performance of the Health Economics and Corporate Affairs Groups, relating to the business for Australia. These activities encompass strategic input into reimbursement submissions and pricing activities for all products through PBAC, Repat, PBPA and Hospital Formulary submissions, in accordance to defined timelines. The role requires a high level of competency in negotiation, influencing and analytical skills due to the need for successful interaction with key government personnel, on behalf of the company. In addition, the HCA must work closely with senior management, providing advice in relation to pricing and reimbursement issues to allow maximum market access for business critical products.
Qualifications: A relevant degree in science and or economics or further degree in economics, epidemiology, MPH, or an MBA will all be highly regarded. Applications are welcomed as soon as possible, especially returning Australians, as the role will be advertised extensively in the print media.
