Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical Services, LLC, a member of Johnson & Johnson’s Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Director, Health Economics and Pricing, located in Raritan NJ.
The Director, Health Economics and Pricing will be responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of Health Economics & Pricing programs for 1-2 pharmaceutical products (and all related indications) in the R&D and licensing pipelines. For the assigned products, the Director of Health Economics & Pricing serves as the leading resource in Health Economics & Pricing and initiates most actions with respect to health economic issues. In this function, the Director of Health Economics & Pricing is the key contact supporting economic program development and implementation for Operating Companies worldwide. Develops and implements appropriate strategies for economic and patient-report outcomes (PRO) evaluation of pharmaceutical products for purposes of quantifying their value, supporting pricing and reimbursement arguments, and supporting product marketing. Directs and manages health economic and pricing studies including the preparation of economic and PRO study protocols; pricing research; and supervises development of case report forms, statistical analyses, and monitoring plans. Explores and implements database and epidemiological research as needed to support value quantification. Participates in various product development teams. May also interact with Medical Affairs teams on health economic/outcomes studies.
Position Qualifications:A Ph.D. or M.D., or M.Sc./Advanced degree in an appropriate field (Health Economics, Epidemiology, Economics / Commerce, Public Admin/Health Services Research) is required. A minimum of 5 years experience in a Health Economics, Outcomes Research and/or Pricing is required. A minimum of 3 years experience and accomplishment in project management is preferred. A minimum of 2 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Certification/Training: Relevant courses of study/training include economics, medicine, psychology, health services, research methodology, econometric modeling, capturing patient reported outcomes, clinical trial design or epidemiology. Capable of directing statistical analyses is required. Advanced presentation skills training are required. Understanding of the global or regional reimbursement environment is a must. Experience working within a highly matrixed environment is preferred. Experience with developing global/regional health economics and pricing dossiers is required. Experience with implementing pricing and reimbursement in the US and / or Europe is preferred. Must posses superior communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact appropriately with members of the organization at all levels and responsibilities. Must be capable of leading a team and also work effectively as a member of different teams. Previous ‘Negotiation’ training or experience is preferred. Experience in a relevant therapeutic area (oncology, hematology ) is preferred. This position requires approximately up to 10% domestic and international travel based on business needs.
