In the current environment marked by growing market forces, an aging population, increased prevalence of chronic illness, and a health care system in organizational flux, social scientists are needed who will apply their disciplinary perspectives to analyzing and solving complex policy questions. Recent graduates of doctoral programs in these disciplines, including junior faculty, are invited to apply for this two-year fellowship. The Scholars selected will work with faculty from one of three participating universities -- University of California at Berkeley (in collaboration with the University of California at San Francisco), University of Michigan, and Yale University. Up to 12 Scholars are selected annually. Scholars receive annual stipend support of $57,500 for the first year and $60,000 for the second year. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who received a doctoral degree in economics, political science, or sociology after January 1994, but no later than July 1999.
