The Northwest HSR&D Field Program, founded in 1982, has conducted health services research on the effectiveness of primary care, preventive care, geriatrics/long-term care, mental health, and intensive medical procedures. The Field Program also sponsors pre and post Ph.D. and post-MD fellowship programs. Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree in public health, social science, or another domain relevant to health services research. Candidates must also have significant research experience in one or more of the following areas: methods for assessing cost-effectiveness, health status measurement, medical decision analysis, or mental health services research.
