Presentation:

The course offers an introduction to recent advances in the economic analysis of health care systems. The course combines a presentation of theoretical and empirical developments of the analysis of health care demand, health care supply and demand for health insurance. Consequences of recent findings on the optimal regulation of health care systems are presented in details, with a specific focus on competitive health insurance markets and Managed Care.

Objectives:

Models of asymmetric information will be studied in details, as well as their applicability to the study of health insurance and health care production.
