Getting to Lund

Lund is situated in southern Sweden and directly linked to Copenhagen (the capital of Denmark) by railway over the Öresund Bridge.

Copenhagen International Airport (Kastrup) is served by all the big regular airlines as well as some charter ones. In almost all cases flying into Copenhagen is the cheapest and most convenient way of getting to Lund by air. From Kastrup there is a swift and convenient railway connection to Malmö and Lund, thanks to the Öresund bridge between Denmark and Sweden (see overview map below). Trains depart every 20 minutes from the airport (from 6 a.m until midnight, and every 60 minutes after that). In some cases you will need to change trains at Malmö Central Station.

The journey Kastrup-Lund typically takes 40-60 mins and costs SEK 117 for 1 adult (corresponds to about DKK 95 or about USD 16). Tickets can be bought on the train. To get the cheapest price, however, tickets should be bought at the railway station before getting on the train.

It is possible to take a taxi directly from Kastrup to Lund (costs about SEK 800, including bridge toll).

(NB: Malmö Central is NOT Malmö Airport. Malmö Airport is a much smaller airport, mainly served by domestic flights.)

Valid timetables for the trains between Lund and Copenhagen during the iHEA Congress will be available in June 2007 at the website of the public transport in southern Sweden (Skånetrafiken).

Arriving at Lund Central Railway Station

Upon arrival at Lund Central Railway Station (1 in the map below) please note: The railway station has three exits/entrance halls now. If you are heading for the Pre-Congress Sessions venues, the city centre or the hotels, you should exit through the old railway building on the east side. You will find yourself on Bangatan, a long straight street with taxi ranks, cluttered bicycle stands and local bus stops. Right outside of the Station building is Knut den Stores torg, where Hotel Lundia is situated. 2-mins walk down Knut den Stores torg is the Bed & Breakfast Gräddhyllan. Round the corner from there is Hotell Oskar (Bed & Breakfast), so if you are staying at any of these, you won't need a taxi. A 2-min walk down Bangatan from the Station building is the Grand Hotel (number 2 in the map below), on Bantorget Square, so if you're staying there, getting a taxi will be quite unnecessary.

Venues for the Pre-Congress Sessions

The Pre-Congress Sessions held in Lund will all (except for the NHA symposium) take place in and around the University Building (number 4 in the map below), situated in the city center of Lund, just north of the Lund Cathedral.

The iHEA Pre-Congress Sessions will be held in the following buildings:
