Swedish Visa Requirements

Sweden is a member of the Schengen group of countries, which means that the visa rules of the Schengen Agreement are applicable. A visa issued in one Schengen Member State (such as Denmark) is also valid for visits to all other Member States.

Stays in multiple Schengen countries: An applicant who wishes to visit several Schengen countries (such as Sweden), but who plans to spend the longest time in Denmark, must submit his or her application at a Danish diplomatic representation. If the applicant wishes to stay for an extended period in several countries, he or she must apply for a visa at the diplomatic representation of the Schengen country where the visit is to begin.

Applications for visas for Sweden are made at a Swedish embassy. In certain cases where there is no Swedish embassy in the country, other Schengen countries represent Sweden and issue visas. Please contact the nearest Swedish embassy for advice.
