Conference Overview

The purpose of Faces of a Healthy Future: National Conference to End Health Disparities II is to bring together representatives from local, regional, state, and national organizations, along with consumers, in a forum addressing progress toward the NCMHD and Healthy People 2010 goals through the conference objectives. Over 800 healthcare providers, researchers, business leaders, consumers, policy leaders, academicians and community leaders will highlight progress made in addressing health disparities and contribute to the national planning and strategy implementation.

Keynote speakers include Mrs. Elizabeth A. Edwards, Dr. Garth Graham, Dr. David Williams and Dr. Alvin Poussaint. The program agenda includes a town hall meeting, general sessions, panel discussions, working groups, student colloquia and paper and poster sessions. In addition to interacting with accomplished leaders, individuals and organizations can share the outcomes of their own projects through technology oriented multi-media outlets. The conference engenders future planning, exchange of strategies and celebration of contributions in eliminating health disparities minority health.
