20th Annual Health Economics Conference

Location: Boston, MA
Dates: October 23-24, 2009
Abstract submission deadline: June 15, 2009

The purpose of this invitational conference is to facilitate the exposure to and discussion of cutting edge research in health economics. We invite both theoretical and empirical papers on health economics topics, and encourage the participation of economists in all fields whose current research focuses on health care issues. Papers will be chosen primarily for their originality, innovativeness, and rigor. We would like to devote a part of the conference to two theme areas in value/quality/cost and industrial organization, so submissions in those areas are especially encouraged.

The cost of meals for presenters and discussants will be paid for by the conference sponsors. All other expenses, including hotel accommodations and transportation, are the participants’ responsibility (exceptions may be made if these expenses represent a significant barrier in attending and lodging expenses may be paid contingent on obtaining external funding).

Interested researchers should submit an abstract (maximum of two pages) by June 15, 2009, in an electronic format (PDF preferred) to ahec@bu.edu. (Please include “Annual Health Economics Conference” in subject line). Submitted papers should be unpublished and not under review at a peer reviewed journal.

Those invited to participate in the conference will be notified by July 15, 2009. Completed papers must be received by the conference organizers by September 15, 2009. For further information, please see the conference web site where updates will be posted at http://sph.bu.edu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=77&Itemid=105 or contact James F.
