Call for Papers: Distributive Justice in the Health System - Theory and Empirics
Location: Halle (Saale), Germany
Dates: 11th and 12th December 2009
Submission deadline: 15th September 2009
As allocation and distribution problems in the health system become more and more pressing, there is a growing need for discussion on the topic of distributive justice. The conference aims to bring together theoretical and empirical researchers to debate recent issues and observations. Theoretical contributions may include studies on norms and principles of distributive justice and their implementation in health systems. Moreover, work on institutional regulations of allocation procedures is welcome. Empirical studies could either investigate current supply situations and allocation effects of different arrangements or report findings from questionnaire studies and experiments in health economics that are intended to unfold opinions and preferences of different interest groups.
If you would like to contribute to this conference by presenting a paper, we ask you to send an extended abstract electronically (PDF or Word, 150-500 words) via email until 15th September 2009 to Halle09@dggoe.de
The conference will also offer a panel for discussing results of the interdisciplinary research group FOR655 on “Prioritizing in Medicine” financed by the German Science Foundation (DFG). Moreover, in the course of the conference the constitutive meeting of the dggoe research committee “Distribution” will be held.
The conference fee is 50 € [euro] (no fee for undergraduate and graduate students) and has to be paid in cash at the conference desk. To register for the conference please fill out the form you can find on the homepage below and send it via email to Halle09@dggoe.de. You will also find a list of hotels on the homepage.
