Overview:
Investing more in health promotion, prevention and early intervention is on the policy agenda of State and Federal Governments in Australia. There is a wide range of options for investment ranging from increasing expenditure on new pharmaceutical therapies such as the poly-pill or a vaccine for heart disease to health promotion strategies aimed at reducing childhood obesity. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss an economic framework to decide on the best way of allocating more resources to prevention and promotion.
